* Bourjois Paris Collection *

Hi guys

So it all began when I was looking for my first ever foundation, I was in my final year of University and thought ‘Damn! It’s about time lol

I ended up getting the wrong shade and since I bought two on the same day they both were way too dark for me. This is when I realised that my hands were darker than my face =/ Awkward.

Anyhow, I wasn’t too bothered, I just use loose powder over it that is skin tone and it works fab.

I did think they were quite good at first, but if you forget to set them, they do oxidise in the air and make your face shine like mad. If you have dry skin like mine then you will LOVE these, they feel quite hydrating and since they are a thin formula, it’s easy to apply all over the face, you can even use your hands, no need for sponges or brushes. Due to the consistency of the foundation, it helps give you a nice fresh a dewy look and does NOT cling to any dry spots that you may have, which is awesome. Most of the time when I apply make up I feel like I’m ruining my face, but not when I’m using the healthy mix, it has some fruits in it, that help hydrate and give your face some radiance.

Sometimes when I’m in a rush I mix the 123 with my normal moisturiser and make my own BB cream. The 123 has particles that help remove redness and dullness and corrects the skins problematic areas by covering up blemish marks.

Any one who knows me knows that I am a big fan of eyeshadow! These trios are ideal if you are beginner. There’s one shade for the highlight under the brow, one for the lid and one for the crease. You can also use the crease shadow to create depth at the side of your eyes, or use the lightest shade to highlight the inner corner of your eye.

The Bourjois Eye liner is my all time favourite, and I will repurchase again and again, I love it, I don’t have one bad thing to say about it, Pleaseeeeee don’t let them discontinue!! I don’t know what I would do. At one point I was mad about the Maybelline reclining pencil, I think it was called The Linermatic or something, but it had so little product and ran out very quickly. At the same price you get a Bourjois pencil with a sharpner at the end of it, how adorable! It’s thick and creamy and last forever and ever, very good buy for your money.

My first ever coloured liner was the blue one by Bourjois, it was a present given to me by my big sister. I love using it one waterline and adding the black liner over the top, it looks great, it comes out as a dark teal colour with some brightness of the turquoise colour showing through, I used to wear that look all the time.

Hope you liked looking at my collection, there’s more on it’s way

February Favourites [2013]

Hey guyss, heres a very late February Favourites =) Please do enjoy, if you like what you read, you can request next months, or request similar posts for the future, please don’t forget to LIKE and COMMENT, enjoy =D

Sooooooooooooooo in no particular order, here are the products that have been used by me myselfand I, throughout February!

1) L.A Colours Jumbo Eye Pencil – This was a great buy, I didn’t expect this to be as great, but when used as a base for the eye it intensifies even the light shades on my palette which I rarely used as I have hyper pigmentation on my eyes, but now I can try our even the lighter shades which usually get hardly any usuage. Initially it reminded me of the NYX Jumbo pencil (which is very difficult to find here in the UK) but I didn’t think it would be as good really, I was really surprised. Also another bonus is, it really works well to keep your eyeshadow in place and helps with the longivity of the product, since I don’t use a primer on my eyelids and my eyelids are oily at times, there is a tentency for eye makeup to crease, which is totally eww, so I’m glad I’ve discovered this one =D

2) Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in Pink Sprint (which includes the colours Pink Parfait/Pink Ice/Pinktini) – So intense and sooo well pigmented, a little goes a long way, I doubt I’ll be needing to buy blush ever again, this will last me a whole lotta time, also its very compact and so can be carried with you everywhere. The slightest bit of colours gives a nice flushed natural blush look. There are also other colours available. I actually went in to get the red flame, however, unfortunately my store did not sell that palette =(

3) Borjois Kohl & Contour Eye Pencil – Very smooth, I use it on my waterline and it is in intense black and it looks great, even with one swipe. I love the fact that you can smudge it using a small eyeliner brush and create a smokey eye instantly!

4) Rimmel London Exxagerate Lip Liner  in Epic [045] this colour is really great, it makes a small and subtle difference to my lip colour but I just love how creamy it feels and how matte it looks, just great!

5) MUA Undressed Palette – This month I’ve been into the natural Nuetral look, I thought I’d give this palette a try since I’ve heard good things about it,I absolutely love this palette, its perfect for everyday make up and also a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette.  It’s so easy to create lot’s of defferent neutral looks with this and is handy for work make up.

6) Magi-Length Mascara by Collection 2000 (now known as Collection) / Define-A-Lash by Maybelline – I really enjoyed combining these two and creating lengthy lashes, the formula helped lightly coat them, and each one is made with seprate bristles on the wand which meant my lashes didn’t clump together. Theres nothing more annoying than spider lashes =P

7) Garnier BB Cream – Although my first impressions of this product were not that great, I have learnt to like it much more recently. Hectiv work mornings meant I could swipe on some BB cream, powder over the top with a pressed powder or loose powder and I was good to go.  I have dry skin so this helps keep my face moisturised all day.

Cheap Beauty Products: Do they work? I put them to the test!

Time to find out whether cheap products are worth buying, do they work and are they worth trying? Well, I thought I should give some products a try.

1) Let’s begin with MUA (Make Up Academy)

MUA

MUA

A fairly new make up line, very affordable, with most of their products costing only £1.00! I bought 2 Lipsticks, 5 single eyeshadow pans, 2 lip glosses and one green eyeliner. They all cost me £1 each and they all had fairly simple yet nice packaging.

My thoughts:

The lipsticks, although very moisturising, I found that even with a lip primer that they provided, it seems to dry on your lips very quickly and sits inside your fine lines on your lips, which is really annoying.

The Lip glosses, had a good colour range, there was a lot of product inside the tube, however it feels very sticky on the lips and similar to the lipsticks, it dries very quickly. It also contains a lot of glitter which isn’t something I look forward to seeing on my lips, once the gloss has vanished the glitter is all you can see. Yuckay!

The eyeliner I bought to use while I was on holiday. The actual product is really thick and hard, which is difficult to use on my eyes as they are sensitive and delicate, however when I was on holiday I believe the heat melted the product slightly which allowed it to glide on easier. The pigmentation isn’t that great, but you can definately layer it to make it darker, it does contain glitter but it didn’t really show up on my eyes.

Eyeshadows, I was very impressed with how greatly pigmented these were, you get 2g of product in the pan, which is brilliant, they don’t sit in the crease line, using a little goes a long way, which is always fab! Two of the colours I bought (shade 1/2) work great as highlighters, even on the cheeks to create a glow on the cheek bones, out of all the MUA products I bought, I will definitely repurchase the eyeshadow, they were an awesome buy! The picture of eyeshadow swatches doesn’t realy do the product justice. The Superdrug I got it from did have testers though, so try them out! My favourite is shade 12 which is a two tone eyeshadow, it looks like a dark grey/brown with a green tint, which looks so pretty on the eyes. The green pigments in the shadow will make green/brown eyes pop!

2) BeautyUK

BeautyUK

BeautyUK

I bought one lipstick which cost £3.49, one blusher which cost £3.29 and one eyeshadow palette which cost £3.99.

My Thoughts:

The lipstick reminded me a little of the MUA lipstick, it has very similar packaging, also comes with a lip primer at the top, smells a bit like ‘After Eights’ chocolate, it has a minty scent to it, which is okay, it has a cooling sensation on the lip which feels good, but I wouldn’t say it’s even worth £3.00, it doesn’t add much colour to your lips and made my lips feel dry, I got mine, in the shade Tango, which is a coral/Pink, I don’t think it’s horrible but it’s not great either!

The Blusher looked nice and I really couldn’t wait to try it out, it comes with 5 colours, so you can swirl your blusher brush in and pick up a range of colours. I especially liked that it came with a highlight white, which will add glow. In terms of pigmentation, the baby pink and highlight white are more pigmented than the other shades in the tub. I wouldn’t use this blush on its own, rather use it on top of my more pigmented blush to add glow. I won’t be repurchasing this product again, but it was an alright buy, seeing as I will be using it.

The eyeshadow palette contains a range of colours, they have a range of other palettes too, but this one looked the most colourful to me and I thought I should give it a go, the eyshadows are very pigmented which is awesome and reminds me a little of my sleek palettes which obviously cost more but is pretty much the same, except the sleek palletes are a little bigger. It doesn’t bother me too much that the BeautyUK palette is small, I usually look for compact products that I can carry in my handbag/travel with. I would love to buy the other palettes they have available, I can’t wait to try them out.

A new line which is only available at Superdrugs. I only bought 3 products, a concealer which cost £1.99 and 2 eyeliners in shade number 3 and 15 which cost £1.99 each.

My thoughts:

The concealer is in a glass tube, looks a little like a lip gloss, which a doffer applicator. Mines is in shade number 2. It’s supposed to correct, reflect light and boost your skins radiance. I feel like it does everything it says it will do, it makes your under eye circles vanish and brightens your under eye instantly. I also used this on the bridge of my nose and it highlighted that area perfectly, probably due to the light reflecting properties. I will definitely repurchase this product again and recommend it to those of you with dark under eye circles, hyper pigmentation or blemishes.

The eyeliners were great, they’re designed like retractable pencils, which looks cool. The tip is very soft and easy to apply. The colours I bought are very nice and I can’t wait to buy more. They remind me of my Number 7 eyeliners, however they cost me £7 each!!

So…

I must admit, I didn’t expect to like any of them, I’m glad I found a few gems that barely cost me anything, I guess it’s time to save some money buying drugstore products rather than high end one. Although there were some I did not like, It’s not like I wasted so much money, so it’s all good!
