Time to find out whether cheap products are worth buying, do they work and are they worth trying? Well, I thought I should give some products a try.
1) Let’s begin with MUA (Make Up Academy)
MUA
A fairly new make up line, very affordable, with most of their products costing only £1.00! I bought 2 Lipsticks, 5 single eyeshadow pans, 2 lip glosses and one green eyeliner. They all cost me £1 each and they all had fairly simple yet nice packaging.
MUA
My thoughts:
The lipsticks, although very moisturising, I found that even with a lip primer that they provided, it seems to dry on your lips very quickly and sits inside your fine lines on your lips, which is really annoying.

The Lip glosses, had a good colour range, there was a lot of product inside the tube, however it feels very sticky on the lips and similar to the lipsticks, it dries very quickly. It also contains a lot of glitter which isn’t something I look forward to seeing on my lips, once the gloss has vanished the glitter is all you can see. Yuckay!
The eyeliner I bought to use while I was on holiday. The actual product is really thick and hard, which is difficult to use on my eyes as they are sensitive and delicate, however when I was on holiday I believe the heat melted the product slightly which allowed it to glide on easier. The pigmentation isn’t that great, but you can definately layer it to make it darker, it does contain glitter but it didn’t really show up on my eyes.
Eyeshadows, I was very impressed with how greatly pigmented these were, you get 2g of product in the pan, which is brilliant, they don’t sit in the crease line, using a little goes a long way, which is always fab! Two of the colours I bought (shade 1/2) work great as highlighters, even on the cheeks to create a glow on the cheek bones, out of all the MUA products I bought, I will definitely repurchase the eyeshadow, they were an awesome buy! The picture of eyeshadow swatches doesn’t realy do the product justice. The Superdrug I got it from did have testers though, so try them out! My favourite is shade 12 which is a two tone eyeshadow, it looks like a dark grey/brown with a green tint, which looks so pretty on the eyes. The green pigments in the shadow will make green/brown eyes pop!

2) BeautyUK
BeautyUK
I bought one lipstick which cost £3.49, one blusher which cost £3.29 and one eyeshadow palette which cost £3.99.
BeautyUK
My Thoughts:
The lipstick reminded me a little of the MUA lipstick, it has very similar packaging, also comes with a lip primer at the top, smells a bit like ‘After Eights’ chocolate, it has a minty scent to it, which is okay, it has a cooling sensation on the lip which feels good, but I wouldn’t say it’s even worth £3.00, it doesn’t add much colour to your lips and made my lips feel dry, I got mine, in the shade Tango, which is a coral/Pink, I don’t think it’s horrible but it’s not great either!
The Blusher looked nice and I really couldn’t wait to try it out, it comes with 5 colours, so you can swirl your blusher brush in and pick up a range of colours. I especially liked that it came with a highlight white, which will add glow. In terms of pigmentation, the baby pink and highlight white are more pigmented than the other shades in the tub. I wouldn’t use this blush on its own, rather use it on top of my more pigmented blush to add glow. I won’t be repurchasing this product again, but it was an alright buy, seeing as I will be using it.
The eyeshadow palette contains a range of colours, they have a range of other palettes too, but this one looked the most colourful to me and I thought I should give it a go, the eyshadows are very pigmented which is awesome and reminds me a little of my sleek palettes which obviously cost more but is pretty much the same, except the sleek palletes are a little bigger. It doesn’t bother me too much that the BeautyUK palette is small, I usually look for compact products that I can carry in my handbag/travel with. I would love to buy the other palettes they have available, I can’t wait to try them out.
3) 2true
2true
A new line which is only available at Superdrugs. I only bought 3 products, a concealer which cost £1.99 and 2 eyeliners in shade number 3 and 15 which cost £1.99 each.
My thoughts:
The concealer is in a glass tube, looks a little like a lip gloss, which a doffer applicator. Mines is in shade number 2. It’s supposed to correct, reflect light and boost your skins radiance. I feel like it does everything it says it will do, it makes your under eye circles vanish and brightens your under eye instantly. I also used this on the bridge of my nose and it highlighted that area perfectly, probably due to the light reflecting properties. I will definitely repurchase this product again and recommend it to those of you with dark under eye circles, hyper pigmentation or blemishes.

The eyeliners were great, they’re designed like retractable pencils, which looks cool. The tip is very soft and easy to apply. The colours I bought are very nice and I can’t wait to buy more. They remind me of my Number 7 eyeliners, however they cost me £7 each!!
So…
I must admit, I didn’t expect to like any of them, I’m glad I found a few gems that barely cost me anything, I guess it’s time to save some money buying drugstore products rather than high end one. Although there were some I did not like, It’s not like I wasted so much money, so it’s all good!
