♥ Divergent – Veronica Roth ♥

This is going to be a review on Divergent by Veronica Roth.

Divergent - Veronica Roth

Divergent – Veronica Roth

Okay so why did I pick up Divergent? Well the real reason is because I know a lot of people who wanted me to 😛 Everyone is calling it ‘The Next Hunger Games’, but I’ll be honest here. I don’t see that.

The world of Divergent is split into 5 factions:- Candor [Honest], Abnegation [Selfless] Dauntless [Fearless] , Amity [Peaceful] and Erudite [ Crave Knowledge]. Now I don’t know if this is just me but the Potterhead side of my brain thinks in my head that Erudite is like a dupe for Ravenclaw, Amity for Hufflepuff, Dauntless a dupe for Gryffindor.

However there is some differences, for instance: I sort myself into Gryffindor though I call myself a Huffledor/Gryffinpuff as I do possess many Hufflepuff traits. Also the sorting hat on Pottermore sorts me into Gryffindor. However I think I belong in Amity as I don’t really like Dauntless. I find them stupid and just plain.. well stupid. Like seriously. Gryffindor’s are brave and courageous and then you have Dauntless launching themselves off buildings.

Also the only job Dauntless have is guarding the barrier. I mean is that it? That’s how they spend there lives when there not on some crazy suicide mission?!

Amity suited me I think because they  are FUN! Probably the only faction that is fun now I think about it! I think that’s what Veronica did wrong. She controlled the way people behaved, and I guess it worked. But will you ever find people who are completely  selfless, or people who are willing to blurt out all there secrets just to be honest? I don’t think so. None of the factions ever seem to laugh except Amity – I mean everyone at least cracked a smile once in their life right?

Most of the book was based on the romance between Tris and Four, which I admit was entertaining. It was also sweet, but very predictable.

Additionally, we found out almost nothing about what Divergent is, and that’s what the book was named. However veronica probably [hopefully] will go into more detail in the next book of the series, Insurgent.

On the whole I found Divergent enjoyable and a pleasant read, and I can see why it is on so many people’s top ten favorite lists!I am looking forward to reading Insurgent, definitely.

I give this book *** 3 stars, because it’s not horrible and it’s not rubbish but it makes me want to read on and find out what happens…( But then again I’m a naturally curious person! :p)

I would recommend this to people who have read The Hunger Games although I do not think it’s the NEXT Hunger Games. There are concepts which are vaguely similar.

Anyway, I love you guys my lil candyflosses :* :* Mwah Mwah!! ^-^

♥ Delirium – Lauren Oliver ♥

This is going to be a review on the spine tingling awesome book by Lauren Oliver. I wanted to review Delirium because I just cannot wait to read the sequel which is called Pandemonium, and in my eyes, if you cant wait to read a book sequel it must mean the books good.

Delirium Cover

The Cover Of Delirium

Delirium, a dystopian world where when teenagers reach eighteen they receive a cure against love, or in their words amor deliria nervosa. A disease that every child is afraid of catching.  Something to be frightened and worried about. After the cure, they will not be capable of feeling strong feelings for anyone. They do not feel, and go on to live care free lives with someone they are paired with. They will not ever feel a strong desire, or love for something. They wont feel emotional pain. How could they, in a world where music and freedom is unheard of? They just live, empty soulless shells. Love for them is a disease, something contaminating. Something that should be stopped at all costs. No matter what price they have to pay.

Lena Haloway, an orphan living with her aunt an uncle is no different. She cannot wait for the cure, and is counting the days with her best friend Hana. She wants to be gone of the lure, the risk of love. The cure is what is expected, and that is what makes it right. This is what Lena believes in, this is all she knows.  After all, the disease could affect her at any minute and contaminate her. And how right is she for worrying. With only a few weeks before Lena takes the procedure she meets Alex.

Alex – The boy who wakes Lena up from the gray world she had been living in. Alex – A boy with eyes that sparkle, with secrets and a mysterious past. Alex – Who helped her realize that Love is not a disease, and that it does not need a cure.

Loving Alex is risky and dangerous, but beautiful and invigorating. Like a breath of fresh air, after years of being trapped in a dark basement. There are hazards around every corner, and with everything Lena has discovered her happiness seems to be rising, until it reaches a point where there is no choice. It has to go down.

The risks, the pain it is  all worth it – worth it for the love of her life Alex, who will be with her every step of the way.

But what if… What if he isn’t?

***************

I love love LOVE this book! This is my first time reading a Lauren Oliver book, and I completely fell in love with her poetic way of writing. I have just got myself a copy of ‘Before I Fall’ which I will definitely be doing a review on soon! 🙂 Yay!

But anyway I rate this book – ***** 5/5 Yuup! I love it that much!

Make sure you borrow this book, or buy yourself a copy! You will love it, trust me!

For now, Arios Senoritas! Mwah!!

♥ Beneficial and Beautifying Oils ♥

I thought I would take some time out to share some information on a few types of oils you may want to include in your daily skincare routine.

1) Tea Tree Oil

Useful for dry skin and blemish prone skin, does not dry out your skin but has good anti-bacterial properties. I’ve recently started using a cleanser which contains tea tree oil, not only does it smell like a disinfectant but it actually makes me feel like it has totally cleaned out my skin from any possible impurities. Less bacteria means less spots! If you’re wondering about the name of my cleanser it’s ‘Tea Tree’ Exfoliating face scrub by Beauty Formulas, loving it so far. It comes in a squeezy tube and contains 150ml. Due to the oils anti-bacterial properties it is known to prevent rashes and allergies. Many people use it to clear their acne or dandruff, so quite clearly it has many uses, why not give it a go?

2) Argan Oil (Also known as Moroccan oil)

Argon oil contains vitamins E and other anti oxidants which protects the skin and hair from damage. Due to it’s moisturising properties, using it on your face will leave it feeling soft and hydrated. Whereas using it on your hair will leave it feeling silky and smooth. Argan oil sinks straight into the hair or skin, so you won’t feel sticky afterwards, if you’ve always dreamt of Cheryl Coles glossy locks, I think you should try re-create it using  tiny bit of Argan oil and see the difference.

3) Olive Oil

Olive oil is not only great with your food, but you can also use olive oil on your hair. I use it as a deep conditioning mask, just before I wash my hair, leave your hair dangling with the oil for approximately one hour, then wash your hair out with your usual shampoo and/or conditioner and once you’re out your hair will feel sooo soft and smooth, you’ll probably have trouble keeping your fingers from running through your hair =P
Not only will it feel great but you will notice that it works great at detangling your hair.

4) Amla Oil (Indian Gooseberry)

This smells funny in the hair, but if you feel like you’re losing hair, rub a bit of this in your scalp and your hair will grow back, thick and plenty. It is also known to reduce split ends and has been used in India for many many years as a remedy for keeping your hair beautiful and voluminous. If you don’t use an in-shower conditioner like me, then this works great, I use this if I run out of my leave-in conditioner. Due to it conditioning nature it can also be used to relieve a dry or itchy scalp =)

And there are many more beneficial oils out there, but this is all I will be discussing for now,

Hope you enjoyed this post, If you did don’t forget to LIKE and COMMENT

Hey guys, me (Tj) and Tia thought we should take some Spring pics for you, please don’t complain about our messy garden and amateur photography skills. Plus these were taken by my phone, until, I can afford a decent camera *sigh*

Anyhow, the plants look great, although, most of them have been trampled on by a random cute little cat, who seems to have adopted us (I see him running in my neighbours garden right now lol)

Enjoy the pics =D (Some of them I’ve left full sized due to the utter yumminess)

Arghhh!! There are wasps in my Garden =O

So it’s that time of the year again, when the little BUG-gers do my head in.  I for one LOVE LOVE LOVE animals, but when it comes to insects, ewww, I feel grossed out even writing about them. My head spins, my voice goes all fuzzy and I get this really irritable itch all around my body.

And it seems to me that my cat probably hates these wasps too, I guess he noticed them first and stayed well clear of them. They decided to eat through my plant pots and chip of the sides of my shed in order to build their home.

My dad decided to relocate their home where my cat won’t be stung, but no, they were pretty adamant to build their home inside the shed, so instead of sticking to their old, half built home, they decided to make a new one. Ugh!

Anyways the winter came and they died out and their wonderfully structured home remained. I asked my uncle to bring it out so I can take pictures of it, to show you all. Unfortunately those pictures were long forgotten until today when I noticed the wasps flying around my shed. I knew then that they were back and BACK WITH A VENGEANCE. I don’t think they’re EVER going to leave my house. They love us too much.

Anyways, enjoy the pics:
