* M.U.A Collection *

I’ve been meaning to do this post ever since I got a few single eye shadows from MUA and realised what great products MUA sold for such a reasonable price. I have quite a collection now, unfortunately I have many many make up bags and couldn’t really gather all my eye shadows for pictures, but I can assure you every single one I’ve tried has been mega awesome!!

Please do take a look at our ‘Product Critique’ section for some previous reviews on certain products,

The best thing about make up is you never get bored of it, i have a tremendous amount of various brand make up palettes but even with the great amount of choice I always find myself picking up the ‘Undressed Palette’ which I’ve heard is a dupe for the Urban Decay ‘Naked Palette’ if you’ve tried the ‘Undress Me 2’ Palette, let me know in the comments section what you think of it! My favourite shades in this palette have got to be shade 1,2,3 and 5. They are my most used and also the ones that best suit my skin tone. I’ve almost hit pan on them, so I will be repurchasing it as soon as I get the chance. This palette is great for everyday make up uses, I even used it as part of my eid look, just use a dash of gold glitter with a neutral background and BAM!!! you have transformed into a diva!

My current favourite lip products by MUA are their power pouts, I’ve tried the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous and although I really like it, I find it difficult to splash out £8.99 on a lip product, however, I bought the MUA power Pouts for £3!!! It’s an unbeatable and unbelievable price for a product which practically does the same as Revlon. I also love the colour range, I only have two at the moment. The MUA counter in my town doesn’t sell everything and everytime I go, it’s either sold out or everything has been ripped up, tried and broken my….urm..I dunno, some crazyyy monster that clearly lives inside the MUA counter!!! Grrr…. (Please can we all unite in killing the monsters who do this….EVERYTIME!!!)

I keep meaning to buy more of these!

I keep meaning to buy more of these!

Can't go without mentioning that these lip liners are awesome, I also have the pink one with glitter in it, but I prefer the ones without, so I've given that one to my sister!

So, even though, I have trouble gathering all my make up products, I hope you enjoyed looking at my collection, my room has just been vacuumed, ahhh missing the glitter, ahh well, maybe next time eh!! Glitter rocks! Oh yes, PLEASE MUA, SELL GLITTER/DAZZLE DUST POTS!! I really wannnnnnnnnt =)

Cheerio Till next time,

Peace on the streets Saan! Ooops hold up …Power to the Peaceful

January Favourites (2012) – Revlon/BarryM/Rimmel/NYC/MeMeMe,

Hiiiii everyone, wow, I’ve been super busy, but I thought I’d take out some time to show you all my January product favourites, please let me know if you would like more like this, so I can do them monthly for you! =)

I’ll begin with lipsticks, because I’ve been going through a lipstick craze, I am totally and utterly obsessed right now, and that’s the nicest way of putting it. I think I’ll be buying a whole load more next month, so brace yourselves =P

I must admit I never was a big fan of lipsticks and I never did think I would be, so without further delay, here’s my top favourite lisptick picks this month:

I was desperate to try out the Revlon lip butter, I got mine in Tutti Frutti (Left) and candy apple (Right), I love them both, the colours are fab, not too pigmented but enough colour to be able to notice, super moisturising, just a great GREAT buy! The next colours I would like to try are Creme Brulé, Cotton Candy, Raspberry Pie and Berry Smoothie.

I first got Cherry Blossom (Left) and Kiss me Coral (Right), I loved them instantly, Cherry Blossom is a Pearl finish and the other is a creme finish, I love the creme finish, but they’re both moisturising. I loved them soo much and the colours are so vibrant and super pretty, the red is perfect for the cold days, it adds a touch of colour to your face.

This is Rimmel Londons Lasting Finish lipstick in Sugar Plum, I think plums look awesome in the Winter!

Another one of my favs this month.1359646382853

Although this hot orange is more a spring colour, due to my pigmented lips, the colour does not come out as bright and I wear it more like a lip balm, both the Revlon balm stain in Rendezvous and the Chit chat lipstick are pretty much the same shade on my lips. The Revlon one leaves a stain but the other does not. The chit chat costs only a £1 and is really nice on the lips, the Revlon cost £7.99 but it’s super awesome and well worth the price, I will be trying out more of the balm stains soon.

lipstick selection MDR1

I had to go back and get another Revlon so I chose a purple/pinky lipstick, nothing like the plum I showed you earlier, it’s much more vibrant and feels sooooo much nicer on the lips. This is Wild Orchid from the super Lustrous range and it is a pearl finish, I like to sometimes pat this on my lips to make it less vibrant and add a lip balm or gloss over it! =D

In terms of eyeliner, I have been loving this white kohl eyeliner by NYC it has done a great job at 8:30 in the morning to make me look wide awake when I’m getting ready for work, a great buy!

In terms of foundation, this has been my favourite for this month, just mix a little with moisturizer and dab it on your face, blend, and you’re good to go! Makes you look flawless and feels light on the skin like a BB cream, it also makes you look super radiant due to the blue tint.

In theme with the flawless look, these two are great. The BarryM dazzledust in Pink/Gold, can’t find a name or number sorry, but it’s just great for this month or any month you want a bit of sparkle in your eye.

The MeMeMe Beat the Blues in MoonBeam is a dupe for the Benefit High Beam, it’s great if you want to fake a natural glow, looks great on your cheek bones, the bridge of your nose and your cupids bow. I like to use it on the eyebrow bone and inner corner for more dazzle.

I have been loving the Wilko baby Oil for my hair this month and as you can tell I’ve used it more than my usual one, though they’re both great, I think I’ll be repurchasing my new favourite instead from now on, it has aloe vera inside it and it smells great, I love that the formula is thicker too, it’s great as a conditioning mask before you wash your hair and I’ve seen an improvement on how my hair feels too.

These have been my favourite body sprays this month, In order of my most favourite, out of all my favourites. I’ve already used up my Sainsburys one, I just lovee ittttttt, they all smell a little bit musky, which is great, I love musk.

So that’s it for my January Favourites, can’t wait till next month,

Hair Products I’m Loving ATM (Jan 2013)

Heyyy guys

I am obsessed with hair products and I would say I go through my hair products fairly quickly, and I have tried and tested MANYYYYY from high end to high street (Drugstore)

Here are my current favourites:

Hair Product MDR

1) Pure Coconut Oil by Inecto:

Inecto pure coconut oil

125ml which is a good amount, I got mine for £1:75 from a local Chemist which is very cheap, yayyy, and its made from Pure Coconut Oil which is fab, it smells soooo yummy, it’s meant to detangle, nourish and moisturise, and it does just that, it’s so hydrating and since I don’t use a conditioner in the bath, I rely on a great leave in one, and this is the best I have seen so far, and it works as a great detangler even when your hair isn’t damp. It comes with a pump and comes out quite runny but it doesn’t give out so much product in one pump which is great and I spray pump straight into my damp hair and comb through.

2) [Urban Therapy] twisted sista de-Frizz conditioner:

Twisted Sista de-frizz conditioner

The one I got was 200ml, I got mine for £1.99 from Bodycare.I used to get the serum version which is the clear one, it smelt strongly of watermelons which I hated and it was so small and cost a lot, but then I found this one, which is much better, it’s the cream version, the only downfall is that the other one came with a pump, but I don’t mind too much. I use this at the very ends of my hair, just the tips and use it more like a nourishing cream, it works really great since my hair ends are dryer than the rest of it. This is great as you don’t even need to use that much, I use two pea sized drops and that’s enough for the ends and I have pretty thick dense hair. It’s supposed to calm, sooth, detangle, take away frizz and make your hair ready to style. The one thing that’s really noticeable is that it makes your hair so smooth and silky after using it and definitely makes combing easier.

3) Gliss Hair repair for brittle dull hair:

I got mine for £1.99 from Superdrug, I really love the Gliss range, especially the toner and hair repair spray, not because they work great, but they leave my hair spelling sooo nice, the come in spray bottles, for ease of application, they don’t really do anything for my hair, not that I’ve noticed, but I am totally and utterly in love with the fragrance!!!! The one I am mentioning is actually a leave in conditioner, it does make your hair shiny though, but I already have glossy hair and just prefer the non shiny matte hair =D Shiny black hair tends to look grease =( *sigh*

4) Loreal Elvive Damage Care:

Its a spray version and it contains ceramide which is supposed to seal damaged hair, it smells sooo nice, I love it, certainly does not feel heavy on the hair, the lightweight feeling means you can use a lot of product but feel like you’re barely wearing anything. This one is more difficult to find, but worth trying out. Especially if you use a lot of heat on our hair.

So they are my current favourites, I am looking into a new oil for my hair, currently I’m using Johnsons baby oil/Wilko made baby oil in Aloe Vera, I love the wilko one, it smells soo nice a little bit more thicker than the Johnsons and smells nicer, works real good. I’m looking into Moroccan Oil atm, but it’s sooo darn expensive, let me know if it’s worth it if you’ve tried it out, I;ve heard mixed reviews on that one.

Well that’s all for now, hope you liked this, let me know if you want more hair product reviews,

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation: A Review

If you haven’t heard of Maybellines Fit Me Foundation, it’s basically a new product and its supposed to give you flawless looking skin.

Fit Me, Flawless Face.

Fit Me, Flawless Face.

They’ve also got a concealer and powder in the Fit Me range, which I guess is very useful. I couldn’t wait to try it out, but as it’s new, there wasn’t many reviews on it, so I thought I should ask them for a sample.

The Full Range

The Full Range

The shade I asked for and received was 120 classic Ivory, which turned out to be a shade darker than my face. Ooops!

10ml Tube - Shade 120 Ivory

10ml Tube – Shade 120 Ivory

My Thoughts:

The product goes on very smoothly, it has medium coverage and feels light on the skin, a little like a BB cream (Blemish/Beauty Balm). However I found that it was drying on my skin after a few minutes and it made my skin feel itchy, not sure why, because it went on so smoothly, I was actually surprised, as I had high hopes for this product. I like to choose liquid foundations as I have dry/normal skin and I don’t really want anything on my face that can potentially dry it out more. I won’t be purchasing this product as I don’t feel that an itchy/flaky/dry skin really contributes to flawless looking skin.

I hope this review helps anyone interested. This is my opinion, you may disagree, obviously.

Cheap Beauty Products: Do they work? I put them to the test!

Time to find out whether cheap products are worth buying, do they work and are they worth trying? Well, I thought I should give some products a try.

1) Let’s begin with MUA (Make Up Academy)

A fairly new make up line, very affordable, with most of their products costing only £1.00! I bought 2 Lipsticks, 5 single eyeshadow pans, 2 lip glosses and one green eyeliner. They all cost me £1 each and they all had fairly simple yet nice packaging.

My thoughts:

The lipsticks, although very moisturising, I found that even with a lip primer that they provided, it seems to dry on your lips very quickly and sits inside your fine lines on your lips, which is really annoying.

Lipstick swatches

Lipstick swatches

The Lip glosses, had a good colour range, there was a lot of product inside the tube, however it feels very sticky on the lips and similar to the lipsticks, it dries very quickly. It also contains a lot of glitter which isn’t something I look forward to seeing on my lips, once the gloss has vanished the glitter is all you can see. Yuckay!

The eyeliner I bought to use while I was on holiday. The actual product is really thick and hard, which is difficult to use on my eyes as they are sensitive and delicate, however when I was on holiday I believe the heat melted the product slightly which allowed it to glide on easier. The pigmentation isn’t that great, but you can definately layer it to make it darker, it does contain glitter but it didn’t really show up on my eyes.

Eyeshadows, I was very impressed with how greatly pigmented these were, you get 2g of product in the pan, which is brilliant, they don’t sit in the crease line, using a little goes a long way, which is always fab! Two of the colours I bought (shade 1/2) work great as highlighters, even on the cheeks to create a glow on the cheek bones, out of all the MUA products I bought, I will definitely repurchase the eyeshadow, they were an awesome buy! The picture of eyeshadow swatches doesn’t realy do the product justice. The Superdrug I got it from did have testers though, so try them out! My favourite is shade 12 which is a two tone eyeshadow, it looks like a dark grey/brown with a green tint, which looks so pretty on the eyes. The green pigments in the shadow will make green/brown eyes pop!

Eyeshadow close up/swatches

Eyeshadow close up/swatches

2) BeautyUK

I bought one lipstick which cost £3.49, one blusher which cost £3.29 and one eyeshadow palette which cost £3.99.

My Thoughts:

The lipstick reminded me a little of the MUA lipstick, it has very similar packaging, also comes with a lip primer at the top, smells a bit like ‘After Eights’ chocolate, it has a minty scent to it, which is okay, it has a cooling sensation on the lip which feels good, but I wouldn’t say it’s even worth £3.00, it doesn’t add much colour to your lips and made my lips feel dry, I got mine, in the shade Tango, which is a coral/Pink, I don’t think it’s horrible but it’s not great either!

The Blusher looked nice and I really couldn’t wait to try it out, it comes with 5 colours, so you can swirl your blusher brush in and pick up a range of colours. I especially liked that it came with a highlight white, which will add glow. In terms of pigmentation, the baby pink and highlight white are more pigmented than the other shades in the tub. I wouldn’t use this blush on its own, rather use it on top of my more pigmented blush to add glow. I won’t be repurchasing this product again, but it was an alright buy, seeing as I will be using it.

The eyeshadow palette contains a range of colours, they have a range of other palettes too, but this one looked the most colourful to me and I thought I should give it a go, the eyshadows are very pigmented which is awesome and reminds me a little of my sleek palettes which obviously cost more but is pretty much the same, except the sleek palletes are a little bigger. It doesn’t bother me too much that the BeautyUK palette is small, I usually look for compact products that I can carry in my handbag/travel with. I would love to buy the other palettes they have available, I can’t wait to try them out.

3) 2true

A new line which is only available at Superdrugs. I only bought 3 products, a concealer which cost £1.99 and 2 eyeliners in shade number 3 and 15 which cost £1.99 each.

My thoughts:

The concealer is in a glass tube, looks a little like a lip gloss, which a doffer applicator. Mines is in shade number 2. It’s supposed to correct, reflect light and boost your skins radiance. I feel like it does everything it says it will do, it makes your under eye circles vanish and brightens your under eye instantly. I also used this on the bridge of my nose and it highlighted that area perfectly, probably due to the light reflecting properties. I will definitely repurchase this product again and recommend it to those of you with dark under eye circles, hyper pigmentation or blemishes.

The eyeliners were great, they’re designed like retractable pencils, which looks cool. The tip is very soft and easy to apply. The colours I bought are very nice and I can’t wait to buy more. They remind me of my Number 7 eyeliners, however they cost me £7 each!!

I must admit, I didn’t expect to like any of them, I’m glad I found a few gems that barely cost me anything, I guess it’s time to save some money buying drugstore products rather than high end one. Although there were some I did not like, It’s not like I wasted so much money, so it’s all good!
